Raising Attainment in PSHE

In September 2020 schools will have to teach two new compulsory subjects: Relationships Education and Health Education. Are you ready for these compulsory elements of PSHE? This engaging, one-day CPD course tells you all you need to know about the changes, and looks at the non-statutory areas of PSHE too. It also investigates ways to use this vital subject as a foundation for a ‘broad and balanced’ curriculum.

  • Understand statutory changes
  • Discover practical games and strategies
  • Use PSHE as a foundation for a 'broad and balanced' curriculum

About this course

Course Description:

By attending the course you will better understand the four elements of PSHE:

  • see how to use imaginative and engaging technology and resources
  • explore how PSHE can support SMSC in your school
  • investigate ways that PSHE can satisfy Ofsted’s new ‘Behaviour and Attitudes’ judgment
  • see practical games and strategies that can be easily implemented in the classroom

Raising Attainment in PSHE is also available in a modular structure for school-based CPD training, allowing you to pick whichever PSHE elements are most useful to you. Choose from:

  • statutory changes to PSHE

  • social education (including Sex Education and Relationships Education, but also looking beyond the compulsory elements)
  • health education (including but also looking beyond the compulsory elements)

  • behaviour and attitudes
  • leading on PSHE across the curriculum

  • Coordinators of PSHE, SMSC, Mental health, Safeguarding or Wellbeing
  • SENDCos and Senior Leadership Teams
  • Teachers & TAs - KS1 & KS2
