About this course

This course is aimed at geography coordinators who want to further improve the quality of this important subject in their schools. The training draws on, expands and develops ideas from three of our short courses: Composites and Components; Geography Fieldwork in the Primary Phase; and Disciplinary Knowledge in Geography. It also explores the most recent ideas from Ofsted and others.

By attending this course you will:

  • Use Ofsted’s own curriculum design model to develop a more sophisticated geography provision in your school
  • Explore ways to create a meaningful and purposeful fieldwork curriculum
  • Find out what ‘disciplinary knowledge’ means in geography, and how you can teach it
