Writing Moderation Workshop: KS1 & KS2

Would you benefit from a greater level of confidence that your internal judgements are secure and accurate? Our "Writing Moderation" INSET/twilight workshop can help. Our INSET days are available in-school, via livestream, or delivered with a blend of an on-demand recorded training course (of your choice) followed by time with our consultant in person or via a live link.

About the workshop

The Writing Moderation Workshop will help you to reach accurate judgements of pupils' work. It provides a supportive opportunity to bring your pupils' writing into the course to cross-moderate and explore next steps.

The training will:

  • Give teachers a clear model of the moderation process and pupil statements at each Key Stage.
  • Provide you with GDS and EXS writing examples to take back into the classroom.
  • Offer a range of practical activities to demonstrate what excellent classroom practice may look like and support securing judgements.
  • Focus on progression across the Primary years to improve writing at every stage.
  • Explore engaging experiences for developing further writing opportunities.
  • Consider the link between reading and writing and explore opportunities to develop this link.

This course is appropriate for primary schools.

  • Class teachers
  • English subject leaders
  • Senior Leadership team
