About this workshop

This half-day, workshop-style course will enable you to reflect on your pupils’ experience of this year’s English, Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling (EGPS) SATs papers and discover effective ideas and activities that you can implement to help your pupils to overcome these issues in the future.

Bring your own thoughts and ideas about how your pupils responded to this year’s assessment. In this highly effective and practical workshop, you will discuss problem areas in order to establish ways to address potential barriers to success. These will help any gaps to be plugged, any positive areas to be polished and help you leave safe in the knowledge that you are fully equipped to answer any questions about:

  • Your pupils’ performance
  • Addressing GPS -specific vocabulary
  • How to move forward
  • Next year’s plan of action!

  • Ensure that you have a range of simple, easy to explain grammar definitions, with active, collaborative games to enhance the application of each one
  • Consider the National Curriculum expectations for both grammar and spelling vocabulary and how to develop your pupils’ ability to apply these to the SATs
  • Explore spelling strategies and rules and how these have appeared in this year’s EGPS SAT
  • Discuss common messages and question types from across the papers, looking at how we can help prepare our pupils to decode questioning language

You will also receive a comprehensive breakdown document, analysing the different question types for the paper.

At TT Education we aim to provide you with the outstanding training experience you deserve, from the fantastic resources you receive to the beautiful venues we hold our training in.

The venue will be confirmed in your Welcome Letter that will be emailed out approximately 7 days before the course.
