I am truly motivated by my thirst for learning and consequently I am keen to continue to broaden my knowledge and understanding of all things educational.
High aspirations are important to me and thus I believe that every child regardless of their background has the right to receive the best opportunities they can whilst in our care. I have a real passion for developing potential and encouraging others to grow. I consider this fundamental to successful leadership.
My teaching experiences span over 25 years and I have worked in a variety of schools at different stages in the school development journey from Special Measures to those considered beacons of excellence. My teaching career has included many key areas of responsibility such as Maths, Curriculum and Assessment as well as culminating in Headship for 6 years at a primary school. More recently I have had experience of working as a Primary Adviser for a local authority and now I am the Lead Consultant for TT Education, leading training and consultancy in schools across the UK.
I’ve developed a thorough understanding across the breadth of the primary curriculum, with a particular interest in creativity and approaches to learning.
Supporting leaders with school improvement and in particular Pupil Premium are other areas of interest to me and I consider it a real privilege to be able to work alongside colleagues in different school settings.
Opportunities to travel the world and experience some of the more exhilarating activities such as bungee-jumping or zip-lines and to get up close and personal with wildlife are key to keeping the adrenaline pumping.
More sedately perhaps, I enjoy cycling, reading and wine tasting having recently gained formal qualifications in Wine appreciation.
