I am a mother, consultant, trainer and author. I firmly believe that learning should be enjoyable, interactive, challenging and memorable. This is the driving force behind my teaching methods whether it is for adults or children.
Since graduating with a BA Hons in French and a PGCE, I have had a varied and interesting teaching career in different sectors: 8 years as a teacher of French in a secondary school; 10 years as a lecturer in adult education; more than 20 years as a primary teacher of French. I was a Primary MFL adviser for a local authority for several years and am now a consultant and trainer for my own company 'Cave Languages'.
I am passionate about the importance of early foreign language learning in UK schools and I am involved in all aspects of this both locally and nationally. I have a particular interest in the development of kinaesthetic activities for the teaching of phonics in French.
I spend a lot of time practising Ballroom and Latin dancing. In the winter, I go skiing, if I can. In the summer, my husband and I like to explore European countries often on our bikes.
